Tania Candiani, Del sonido de la labor. Cantos de trabajo/From the Sound of Labor. Work Songs, 2019 Single channel video, color, sound. 12:58 min. Video stills. Courtesy of the artist. [Image Description: Three men, wearing white shirts, off-white pants and shoes, and straw sun hats with black bands stand in a line, in front of a ruined brick structure with five women dressed in white dresses and shoes, each wearing a red flower on the right side of their head. Some men and women stand on large blocks made of brick. In front of them is an arid ground with hardly any grass and two tree stumps. To their left is a lush, green jungle.]

Relational Economies: Labor over Capital is an exhibition that reflects on the impacts of economic crises on different parts of the world and sectors of society, prompting a dialogue about alternatives to the trappings of capitalism. Opening on November 21, 2019, the exhibition will be on view at the Foundation's exhibition space, The 8th Floor, in New York City through March 7, 2020. Artists include mayfield brooks, Tania Candiani, Anetta Mona Chisa & Lucia Tkáčová, Danilo Correale, Stephanie Syjuco, and Stefanos Tsivopoulos. During the opening, Stefanos Tsivopoulos' Alternative Currencies: An Archive And A Manifesto was activated in a performance by Rebecca Pristoop and Tina Wang.
