OBC2 from Object Breast Cancer by caraballo-farman. [Image Description: A brown object that does not resemble any common shape fixed to a cylindrical stand that is connected to a rectangular platform, which are also both brown. The abstract object is a 3D printing of a cancerous tumor that was located in one of the artist’s breast.]

With the successful premiere of their film Icaros: a vision at the Tribeca Film Festival, producer Abou Farman and co-directors Leonor Caraballo and Matteo Norzi presented an evening focused on plants, healing and filmmaking as an afterlife project. The evening featured a performative lecture followed by a discussion of the work of caraballo-farman (on view in the current exhibit In the Power of Your Care) and the film, which was shot at an Ayahuasca retreat in Peru and partly based on late artist Leonor Caraballo’s experiences with cancer and shamanism.
